Full time

Our client is a mobile game studio. They make free-to-play multiplayer FPS shooters for iOS and Android, and their biggest game has over 100 million downloads on Google Play. They are looking for a Community Manager to grow the social media channels and community around their game projects. They need someone who does more than post news. You should know how to grow and engage an audience: come up with activities, keep in touch with players, collect feedback, and suggest new ways to develop the community.

Discord is a key part of this role. The client expects you to know the platform well, run the server, and suggest how they can best use its features to grow their player community.

Responsibilities

  • Social media:
    • Run social media for our game projects: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other platforms.
    • Post news about updates, new seasons, events, game content and other changes in the game.
    • Create and maintain a content plan.
    • Write posts in English.
    • Prepare visuals for posts, including with AI image generation tools.
    • Reply to comments and messages.
    • Come up with player activities: contests, polls, challenges, giveaways and other engagement formats.
    • Suggest new content formats and ways to increase audience activity.
    • Track how players react to posts, updates and in-game events.
  • Discord / Community management:
    • Run and grow the game's official Discord server.
    • Talk to players during working hours and keep the community active.
    • Work with the most active members, community leaders and key players.
    • Run activities in Discord: discussions, votes, contests, events and other formats.
    • Collect player feedback and pass important information to the development team.
    • Track community mood and the main topics players discuss.
    • Suggest how the Discord server should develop: which channels, roles, bots, mechanics, activities and tools to use.
    • Explain Discord's features to the team and suggest best practices for community growth.
    • Help set up moderation and community rules when needed.
  • Analytics:
    • Understand the main social media and Discord metrics.
    • Share community data when needed: audience growth, reach, engagement, user activity, performance of specific posts and activities, and Discord community trends.
    • Know where to find this data, how to read it, and how to present it to the team on request.
    • No complex regular reports needed.

  • Good understanding of Discord's features.
  • Experience with Facebook, Instagram and other social platforms.
